We have a safety meeting every other Thursday in my department at work. I'm the clerk in charge of choosing the topics when there is not a compliant subject that needs to be addressed. Since we are still in April, and April is Earthquake Preparedness month, I choose a DVD about earthquakes.
As I sit at home this afternoon playing Scrabble on Pogo.com all the sudden the house starts shaking!
I've lived in California all my life and have been through a few of these. When they're small like this one, 3.8 magnitude, I usually just sit and wait them out. Today I found myself smiling to myself at the irony of choosing an earthquake preparedness DVD, then experiencing one!
I wonder what everyone will say at work tomorrow; blame me or thank me!

I've never been to California, but I hope if I get there I'll get to feel a small earthquake. Nothing big -- just enough to say I did it. Of course, there's some big fault in Indiana, too. So someday maybe I'll get to feel one w/o having to leave home.
